Are you an ultra rich person who can’t decide between a fancy new yacht, and getting your own little tropical paradise? Perhaps this concept that combines a bit of each in one massive structure could be the solution.
The Tropical Mountain Paradise concept from Island Yacht Design, takes the crazy notion of putting an island right on top of a yacht, complete with a volcano topping it all off. Water flows down from the top of the volcano and into the pool, but to be more realistic, shouldn’t that be red hot lava?
Thankfully, this is just some nutty designer’s concept. I know really rich people sometimes have pretty questionable taste, but I can’t imagine even the most restraint challenged billionaire going for this.
Alright, cat’s out of the bag. The truth is we’ve always enjoyed drawing stuff with pee. A gross use of body fluid, yes, but creativity has no bounds. Such a mindset likely produced the Thermochromic Urinal pictured below. There’s scant detail about who made it or where it’s used. Judging by the photographic evidence, however, it does take a fresh approach to the concept of a urinal. As its name suggests, the Thermochromic Urinal is a heat sensitive wall that registers the temperature of the urine on its surface. It’s nutty, but also looks like fun. And a work of art. Since the pee graphic is done in bright orange, the Thermochromic Urinal presents a rare opportunity for pee artists to scrawl their names with whizz. Amazing.
For some people, the best way to handle rough terrain is with a bobble hat, knee-high socks, and thighs slathered in liniment. Others, however, see it as a good chance to throw some magnificent tech into the mix and see what comes out. The machine-heads behind the DTV Shredder fall into this second category thankfully.
A snarling hybrid of skateboard, motocross bike and panzer tank, the DTV Shredder is the next generation of all-terrain vehicle. Already garnering attention from the US military, this rugged one-person vehicle pushes the competition into the long grass when it comes to handling tough terrain. The rider stands sideways on the Shredder, planted on a modified skateboard deck for improved balance and a narrower wheelbase. Although “wheelbase” is perhaps the wrong word. Because the DTV Shredder is propelled by two enormous caterpillar tracks.
